Single-acquisition reconstruction of nonlinear optical tensor

Published on June 9, 2026

This work present a single-shot optical tensor metrology technique that simultaneously measures Raman and second-harmonic generation (SHG) signals, enabling rapid reconstruction of Raman and χ(2) nonlinear optical tensors from a single diffraction-limited volume. By using a tightly focused Bessel–Gaussian beam, multiple excitation geometries are encoded within one acquisition. The resulting Fourier-plane SHG pattern captures complete polarization and angular information, eliminating the need for mechanical rotations and significantly reducing measurement time while maintaining quantitative tensor characterization.
