Van der Waals materials Workshop – June 24th 2021
The second MaNEP Van der Waals materials workshop will be held online
on June 24th, 2021 from 12h45 to 17h.
The registration is now open. Please fill the online form before Monday 21st June, 2021.
The Van der Waals materials workshop series’ main purpose is to keep each other informed of the latest Swiss developments in this field. We aim to create a place to discuss pressing scientific issues, and establish collaborations whenever beneficial. With this in mind, we would like to bring together all interested groups working on van der Waals materials – from crystal-growers, to spectroscopists, device-makers, and theorists.
The program is the following:
12:45 | Virtual corridor meeting |
13:15 | Ignacio Gutierrez Lezama (UniGE): “Ionic-liquid gating of 2D semiconducting TMDs and their heterostructures” |
13:50 | Märta Tschudin (UniBAS): “Quantum sensing of van der Waals magnets at cryogenic temperatures” |
14:25 | Oded Zilberberg (ETHZ): “Electrically-tunable flat bands, topology, and magnetism in twisted bilayer graphene” |
15:00-15:15 | Virtual corridor meeting |
15:15 | Folkert de Vries (ETHZ): “Engineered correlated states in twisted double bilayer graphene” |
15:50 | Philip Moll (EPFL): “Layered metals in 3D: New directions beyond the flatland” |
16:25 | Virtual corridor meeting |
The talks will be given over zoom platform. Virtual corridor meeting will be held online on another platform, in a more informal way. Both links will be sent to the registered participants a few days before the workshop.
